PURPOSE:To operate a press dehydrator smoothly and efficiently by reversely driving a sludge supply pump while washing water and air are pured into a sludge supply pipe prior to supplying a sludge to the press dehydrator to backwash the sludge supply pipe. CONSTITUTION:Prior to initiating a filtering process of a press dehydrator 64, a sludge supply valve 66 and a drain valve 60 are closed and a washing water supply valve 68 is opened to pour washing water into a sludge supply pipe 48 from a washing water supply pipe 72 under action of a washing water supply pump 70. At the same time, the sludge supply pump 46 is reversely driven to reversely flow a sludge filled in the sludge supply pipe 48 in a previous batch into a sludge storage tank 44 along with the washing water and, thereby, the washing of the sludge supply pipe 48 is carried out. In this case, an air supply valve 74 is also opened to introduce air into the sludge supply pipe 48 from an air supply pipe 76 and said air and the washing water are mixed in the sludge to send said sludge into the sludge storage tank 44. |
