CONSTITUTION:When the operator of an arbitrary terminal executes an operation to start the dictionary display while positioning the cursor, etc., at the head of the words whose meaning is not clear, for example, in the information currently displayed on the display device of the terminal, an operation instruction analyzing means 11 discriminates the operation and a keyword extracting means 12 extracts the word at the cursor position in the currently displayed information, for example, as the keyword for the dictionary retrieval. Then, according to the keyword, a dictionary retrieving means 13 retrieves the dictionary information from a dictionary 14.
