PURPOSE:To improve adhesivity of a fiber to rubbers without deteriorating the moldability in rubber by coating a plasma-treated fiber with a treating liquid produced by mixing a specific phenolic compound to RFL and heat- treating the coated product. CONSTITUTION:A cord made of filaments of nylon fiber, polyester fiber, etc., is treated with plasma to activate the surface of the fiber, immersed in a mixed liquid produced by mixing a resorcinol.formalin.acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber latex with a phenolic compound of formula (X is Cl or Br; Y and Z are Cl, Br, H, OH or 1-4C alkyl; n is 1-3) at a ratio of preferably from 8:2 to 5:5 and the immersed cord is heat-treated to improve the adhesivity of the cord to rubbers without deteriorating the moldability in rubber. |
