The pulse-driven transistor amplifier achieves reduced switching time without the use of auxiliary voltages. The power amplifier has the bases of two complementary transistors connected together to the collector of an input stage and via a resistor to the positive pole of the voltage supply. The emitters of the transistors are likewise connected together and via a capacitor to the base of the output stage transistor. The collector of the first transistor in the pair is coupled to the positive supply pole whilst that of the other is coupled to the reference supply pole. If the output stages are Darlington pairs, the capacitors are connected to the bases of the output transistors of the Darlington pairs whilst the input transistors of the pairs are provided with diodes to prevent saturation.
