PURPOSE:To prevent the selection of a decision zone from becoming unstable owing to the involuntary slight movement of the eyes by providing decision zones including focusing zones, and detecting the direction of the line of sight and deciding which decision zone an gaze point in a finder is positioned in. CONSTITUTION:This device has the focusing zones 80 - 82 provided in the finder and the decision zones 90 - 92 provided including the focusing zones 80 - 82. Then it is decided which decision zone the gaze point in the finder is positioned in and a corresponding focusing detection optical system is selected. Namely, the decision zones 90 - 92 which are larger in range than the focusing zones 80 - 82 are utilized for the criterion of decision making. Consequently, even if the eyes of a user move slightly, the selection of the decision zones 90 - 92 is not reset and the focusing zones 80 - 82 can be selected. |
