PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for the generation, correction and compiling of a source program by providing the work area having a capacity sufficient for storing one source program on a terminal-side and allowing the terminal-side to generate, correct and compile the source program. CONSTITUTION:The terminal-side work area 4 provided on the terminal-side has the capacity sufficient for storing one source program. A terminal-side compiler 11 compiles the source program stored in the terminal-side work area 4 by activating it from a compiler starting means 8 provided on a terminal-side text editor 5. An source program generation/correction means 7 provided on the terminal-side text editor 5 generates and corrects the source program by using the terminal-side working area 4. Thus, the time required for the generation, correction and compiling of the source program can be shortened and a load on a host-side can be reduced.
