PURPOSE:To obtain orientation and a high pretilt angle with a boundary treatment by rubbing of org. thin films by using a high polymer contg. a substd. cyclohexyl ethyl cyclohexylidene group in the long chain of the molecule as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal oriented film and the liquid crystal display element are constituted by using the high polymer contg. the substd. cyclohexyl ethyl cyclohexylidene group expressed by formula I in the long chain of the molecule as the essential component. In the formula I, R1 to R6 denote hydrogen, 1 to 22C alkyl group. The liquid crystal oriented film having the good liquid crystal orientability and the high pretilt angle by executing the rubbing treatment and the liquid crystal display element having the oriented film are thus obtd. |
