<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the occurrence of tape slack due to the change of the tape running direction by changing the position of a brake pad retainer even at the time of the change of the tape running direction to control the tape tension in the same manner as before the conversion of the tape running direction. CONSTITUTION:A tension arm 3 which has a post 6 for guide of a tape 1 in one end, a means which freely turnably supports the tension arm 3, a movable brake pad retainder 8, and a driving means 9 which drives this retainer are provided. Brake pads 5a and 5b are so arranged that a damping force is applied to a tape supply reel 2 by the change of the position of brake pad retainer 8 to reverse the rotation direction of the tension arm 3. Thus, the tape tension is always kept constant even in the case of frame feed recording and reproducing in normal and reverse directions.</p> |
