PURPOSE:To form an apparatus thin in thickness by fitting ballasts lighting fluorescent lamps on the side plate sections side of a chassis, and providing the fluorescent lamps in the height size between the lower ends of the ballasts and the top plate section of the chassis. CONSTITUTION:Ballasts 20 are fitted so that one-side faces with the largest area are brought into face contact with side plate sections 13, 14 and narrow upper faces connected to upper ends of one-side faces at a right angle are brought into face contact with a top plate section 12. Fluorescent lamps 12 are provided in the height size F from the top plate section 12 to lower ends of the ballasts 20. The height size of the fluorescent lamps 18 and the height size of the ballasts 20 do not independently form the height of an apparatus, the fluorescent lamps 18 are located in the height size F of the ballasts 20, and the apparatus can be made thin in thickness as much as the height of the fluorescent lamp. |
