Liquid filter unit for continuously sorting out unwanted constituents in process liquids and comprising a vessel with an inclined bottom surface 18, two vertical side faces and a vertical rear face 9, and in which filter cloth 3 can be moved along the bottom surface 18, which is provided with holes, the filter cloth 3 being fed by means of a drive roller 16 and at the same time rolled up thereon. Between the rear face and the inclined bottom surface 18 there is a narrow gap 6, on which an edge is provided on the bottom part of the vessel end wall. The filter cloth is led from the filter roller 13 into a gap, from which the filter cloth is drawn inward in an even movement and wound on to the roller. A liquid distributor, which comprises an oblong chamber, one side part 7 of which constitutes a moveable cover, which can be lifted, thereby forming an opening over the entire length of the vessel. The liquid is fed in through the opening 8 and flows out towards the inclined bottom surface 18. The liquid distributor can be rotated so that the base surface can be more or less inclined.
