PURPOSE:To prevent complicated system constitution by applying the wavelength multiplex of a monitoring signal light with a wavelength different from the wavelength of a main signal light to a main signal light. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a monitoring light source WL with a wavelength lambda1 capable of amplification at an optical amplifier AM and different from an optical wavelength lambda0 of the main signal light ms, a monitoring processing circuit WP monitoring an optical input state to the optical amplifier AM, or an optical output state of the relevant optical amplifier AM or the operating state of the relevant optical amplifier AM and applying optical amplitude modulation to the monitoring light source WL with a monitoring signal ws based on the monitoring information wi and a synthesizer CP applying wavelength multiplex an output light ams of the optical amplifier AM and a monitoring signal light wo by the light source WL.
