The protection for building components (2-4) against shock loads. caused by impact of bodies uses a shock absorbing system. The component regions, exposed to such shock loads, incorporate layers (6,6') of shock absorbent material, which can consist of sections (7) individually interchangeable. They are pref. of aluminium of cellular structure, or glass foam elements, and can be contained between embedding (5) and cover. layers (8, 9) of reinforced concrete components, at the side subject to shock loads. ADVANTAGE - Protection for both building components and large striking bodies, without increasing dimensions.
