MUSICAL SOUND GENERATING DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To transmit musical sound data in the state of a digital signal to an external device of a synchronizing signal source by providing respective sections to temporarily stop the computation for generating musical sound and the computation of musical sound data regardless of the degree of progression and restart the computation by external synchronization. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic control section 1 generates an arithmetic clock signal (b) for operating the respective computing section and sends an interval computation start signal (h) when the external synchronizing signal attains 0 to 1. The interval computing section 2 executes the respective processings read out waveform data WD from a waveform memory 5 in accordance with a preset interval in order of the zero to 3rd channels (Chs) by the signal (h). The control section 1 stops the signal (b) to temporarily stop the respective computations upon ending of the interval computation of all the Chs. The control section 1 operates the signal (b) again to restart the respective computation operations when the synchronizing signal changes to 0 to 1. The musical sound data is calculated in synchronization with the external synchronizing signal with substantially no increase in sampling period in this way. This musical sound data is sent in the state of the digital signal to the external device for supplying the synchronizing signal.
