PURPOSE: To quickly process information by interpolating respective final chrominance values for respective picture elements surrounded by one two-dimensional area based on luminance values and chrominance values respectively allocated to at least three selected picture elements. CONSTITUTION: In response to geometrical and chrominance information, an interface device 58 generates parameters such as the coordinate of a parallelogram, the luminance value, positioning, a selected start value used for executing direct and indirect interpolation and a constant value used for executing the direct and indirect interpolation. In this case, the parallelogram (P3 P4 P5 P6 ) is bisected by the line segment P1 P2 and the parallel opposite sides surround the picture elements including the end points P1 and P2 of the line segment. The parallelogram displays the two-dimensional area of a display screen 48. The final color value is interpolated for the respective picture elements surrounded by one two-dimensional area based on the luminance and chrominance values allocated to the at least three selected picture elements inside the parallelogram and the information is quickly processed. |
