METHOD OF DETERMINING POSITION OF BOARD INSPECTING IMAGE PLANE

PURPOSE:To perform an inspection with minimum inspection steps by moving a field of view downward, rightward and upward in sequence on a condition that a part anew entering the field of view does not get out of it. CONSTITUTION:An inspection range is divided into sub-ranges y1-y7 in correspondence with the lateral size of the field of view of a camera and an inspection is performed on every sub-range. The field of view is first moved downward so that a part 31 which first enters the field of view is positioned on the upper side of the field of view. Then, the field of view is moved so that the left one in a group consisting of the part 31 and a part 32 which are present in the field of view in a position described just before is positioned on the left end of the field of view. Then, the field of view is moved so that the lower side one in a group consisting of the parts 31 and 32 and a part 33 which are present in the field of view in a position described just before is positioned on the lower side of the field of view and the inspection is performed in this position. Repeating steps described above, the whole range is inspected.
