<p>PURPOSE:To connect and interrupt an option device to and from a mainbody part with a simple operation by controlling a power source to start or stop feed for a computer by means of receiving the ON-instruction signal or OFF- instruction signal of a lock detection sensor or a cover detection sensor. CONSTITUTION:For installing a MODEM communication equipment 2 to the mainbody part 1 of the portable computer as an option, an operator opens a connector cover full. Then, a connector appears, the cover detection sensor 13 detects the full open of the cover, and the OFF-command signal Sf is outputted to CPU 3, which stops the feed of a power control part 4. When the operator engages and connects the equipment 2 to the mainbody part 1, the connector is connected and the pawl of the equipment 2 is connected to the mainbody part 1. Then the lock detection sensor 15 detects the completion of connection, the ON-command signal Sn is outputted to CPU 3 of the mainbody part 1 through the connected connector, whereby the control part 4 is caused to resume feed. Consequently, CPU 3 automatically turns on and off the power source and speedily start or stop the operation without malfunction or a fault.</p> |
