PURPOSE:To measure the representative characteristic values of the sizes of the grooves necessary for determining radial internal chearance by bringing respectively two pieces of contactors provided in an upper measuring part and a lower measuring part into contact with each other in the positions of the nominal contact angle of the raceway grooves and measuring the relative displacements in both measuring parts. CONSTITUTION:Two upper spherical contactors 23, 24 are fixed in an upper measuring part 21 and two lower spherical contactors 25, 26 in a lower measuring part 22. The part 21 is made movable with respect to the part 22. In the state of measuring the size of the raceway grooves of outer races, the contactors 23-26 are brought into contact with groove surfaces 4, 5 in the positions of nominal contact angles, and the relative displacement extents of the part 21 with respect to the set reference values of the groove sizes are indicated and measured on and with an indicator 27. Thus the optimum representative characteristic values of the groove sizes of the raceway ring necessary for obtaining the prescribed radial internal chearance of double row ball bearings are measured extremely easily and accurately, and the work for selecting and combining parts for constituting the bearings is made easy. |
