PURPOSE:To recover valuable substances efficiently by treating shavings in an acidic region by a floatation method and causing the valuable substances to become afloat selectively. CONSTITUTION:Shavings of high functional materials such as gadolinium.gallium.garnet and samarium.gallium.garnet are suspended in water. Next, an acid solution such as sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid or phosphoric acid is added to the water and thereby the H value is adjusted to a desired level for acid adjustment. Furthermore, 0.002-0.01wt.% starch powder, gum arabic, tannin, polyalcohol, etc. is added to the suspension liquid. In addition, air is injected into the suspension liquid so that bubbles may be allowed to adhere to the hydrophobic thin layer of valuable substance particles in the shavings and become afloat. This floating substance is recovered to achieve effective recovery. |
