Preparations for MR diagnosis containing complexes of compounds of general formula (I), where R1 stands for hydrogen and C1-C4 alkyl, R2 stands for -PO(OH)2, -OPO(OH)2 and -SO3H and X is a single bond and -(CH2)n, where n stands for 1 and 2, with iron (III) and manganese (II) and/or their salts with cations of strong bases are characterized by pronounced organ specificity, low toxicity and rapid clearance and are suitable for use as contrast agents in MR diagnosis.
