An electronic data storage, transmission and retrieval apparatus and method wherein a data link device continuously transmits a combination signal having power and data components, which is received by a preferably portable and miniature data storage means. The data storage means derives operating power and data signals from the combination signal and which in turn modulates the combination signal in accordance with available data signals. Substantially simultaneous and bi-directional data communication can be achieved between a data link means and a data storage means without physical contact between the devices. |
