MATERIAL FOR COLORING SYNTHETIC RESIN MOLDING IN PATTERN, ITS PREPARATION, AND SYNTHETIC RESIN MOLDING COLORED THEREWITH

PURPOSE:To prepare the title material useful for producing a molding colored in a pattern by mixing a crosslinkable olefin polymer and(or) an olefin polymer with a pigment, granulating the resulting mixture, and subjecting the granular material to a crosslinking treatment. CONSTITUTION:A crosslinkable olefin polymer (e.g. a polypropylene- vinyltrimethoxysilane graft copolymer) and(or) an olefin polymer (e.g. a polypropylene) is mixed with a pigment (e.g. an anthraquinone-based org. pigment or ultramarine blue). The resulting mixture is granulated, and the granular material is subjected to a crosslinking treatment, such as irradiation with an electron beam or chemical crosslinking with a peroxide, to give the title material. The material is mixed into a synthetic molding resin, and the resulting compsn. is molded to give a molding colored in a pattern since the crosslinked polymer, used as the base material of the coloring material, prevents the pigment from being homogeneously dispersed in the resin even if the compsn. is heated during molding.
