PURPOSE:To provide the subject colorless or shallow-color fiber containing a copolymer of ethylene and a dialkylaminoalkylacrylamide-based comonomer as the active component and free from deterioration of its functions for a long period because of high molecular weight of the active component. CONSTITUTION:An objective fiber containing a copolymer of (A) 40-95wt.% ethylene and (B) 5-60wt.% dialkylaminoalkylacrylamide-based comonomer (preferably dimethylaminopropylacrylamide, etc.] of the formula (R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> and R<3> are 1-4C alkyl, n is 2-4) as the active component. As the above- mentioned fiber, one obtained by carrying out conjugate spinning of the above- mentioned polymer and polyethylene or polypropylene so that the content of the former may be >=10wt.% is preferable from the view point of strength, etc. In addition, the above-mentioned copolymer is recommendably obtained ordinarily by radical polymerization of a mixture composed of the components (A) and (B) at >=500kg/cm<2> and >=100 deg.C. |
