OBTAINING PROCESS FOR A CATALYST FOR UNSATURATED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS HYDROGENATION

A catalyst for isomerisation of n-pentane to i-pentane is prepd. as follows: The support for the catalyst is prepd. as a mixt. of three components namely hydrated alumina of pseudo-boehmite type hydrogen form of mordenite, obtd. from the sodium form by an inorganic acid, and a nitric acid soln. A paste obtd. is extruded, dried and calcined. The support is contacted with a soln of hexachloroplatinic acid and carbonic acid. The catalyst is dried and calcined. A 50% conversion form n- to i-pentane is realised at a volume throughput 1.5l/hr at 35 bar pressure, at a mol ratio of hydrogen:hydrocarbon = 3:1, in a temp interval of 290-320 deg. C.
