METHOD OF MANUFACTURING RADIATION SENSITIVE APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To shorten the time for vacuum draw down by forming discontinuous coating layers by a compsn. contg. liquid hydrocarbon on a radiation sensitive layer by using a spraying technique to roughen the surface. CONSTITUTION: This device is used for roughening the surface of a radiation sensitive plate particularly for production of a planographic printing plate by forming the discontinuous coating layer thereon. The liquid compsn. contg. the liquid hydrocarbon (A) as a vehicle liquid and a material to be dissolved or dispersed into the developer for the plate is supplied to a capillary and prescribed potential is impressed thereon the spray the liquid compsn. onto the radiation sensitive layer deposited on a base consisting of Al, etc. The liquid drops are then formed. The component A is aliphat. hydrocarbon and its b.p. is preferably 150 to 200 deg.C. An air assisted or airless electrostatic spraying technique is preferably used.
