1140-1 A method for providing permanent waves to a users hair is described in which a specific permanent wave formula is mixed at the point of use from a plurality of stock mixtures, the amount of each stock mixture incorporated in the formula being chosen in accordance with an evaluation of the hair to be waved. Thus, the concentration, pH, and activity rate of the reducing agent can all be chosen so that the time and the temperature used for all permanent wave formulae are substantially constant for differing types of hair.
