PURPOSE:To reduce speed change shock effectively by performing fuel cutoff to an engine at the speed change time of an automatic transmission, and correcting the fuel cutoff time so that the speed change time becomes the target speed change time. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle provided with a multiple stage automatic transmission AT for performing automatic speed change being controlled by a speed change control means (a), a fuel cutoff means (b) for stopping fuel supply to an engine E by the specified time at the speed change time of the automatic transmission AT. There is also provided with a speed change time detecting means (c) for detecting speed change time required until the termination of speed change at the time of performing speed change. The output signal of this speed change time detecting means (c) is inputted into a fuel cutoff time correcting means (d), and the detected speed change time is compared with the preset target speed change time. The fuel supply stop time is thus corrected so that a speed change time becomes the target speed change time. |
