A device for elastically connecting a bumper support to a longitudinal member of a vehicle consists essentially of a spring body supported between the longitudinal member of the vehicle and the bumper support. The spring body is formed from two or three fibre-reinforced plastic leaf springs (1, 2, 3). Two leaf springs are joined at the end regions by a fibre winding (4 and 5) made of fibres embedded in a polymer matrix. An intermediate structural element (7) is fastened to the longitudinal member of the vehicle between the leaf springs (1 and 2). The free end (8) of the intermediate structural element (7) is shaped like an expanded wedge and extends into the path of the third leaf spring (3).
