摘要 PURPOSE:To three-dimensionally extract an object having few errors by providing a narrow classification segment quasi-monotonously jointing feature segments corresponding to associated parts with the same height in right and left edge pictures. CONSTITUTION:Right and left edge extraction circuit 43 and 44 extract basis edge points out of an original picture outputted from right and left original picture photographing devices 41 and 42, and make them into fine lines. Right and left picture narrow classification segment extraction circuits 45 and 46 sort out the fine edge lines for narrow classification segments. They have no branches by themselves, and are quasi-nonotonous for height. The list of all the narrow classification segments in each picture and their attributes are outputted. Right and left picture function segment extraction circuit 47 and 48 synthesize plural narrow classification segment, which are jointed linearly and quasi-monotonous for height. Then a width extraction circuit 51 associates points at the same high level through a candidate associating extraction circuit 49 and an out-of-association extraction circuit 50, thereby obtaining width.
