The application describes a table leg assembly and method of assembling table legs comprises two pairs (2,3) of leg members (4-7), each pair having linear intermediate portions (12) fixedly connected by a connecting member (8,9) in one of two pair of diametrically opposed axial indentations (21-24) in the connecting member. The two pair of leg members are connected by disposing one connecting member (8) over the other connecting member (9) with the intermediate portions (12) of the one pair (2) of leg members sliding through the unused pair of indentations in the other connecting member (9) and the intermediate portion (12) of the other pair (3) of leg members sliding through the unused pair of indentations in the one connecting member (9) until the one connecting member contacts the other connecting member.
