In the area of an outwardly curved formation (2a) occasioned by the installation of an air-conditioning or heating box (1), a support wall (2c) is incorporated which bridges over the curved formation and is aligned with the vehicle end wall. This support wall also has apertures for air passage. The outwardly curved, closed end wall section (2a) is fixed in a watertight manner to the vehicle bodywork. The support wall (2c) is fixed to the air-conditioning or heating box (1), and is attached to an intermediary piece (8) by means of a hardened adhesive union (14), this piece also being releasably attached (15,16) to the vehicle end wall (2b,2d). The intermediary piece (8) comprises a ring-shaped frame, L-shaped in cross-section, which surrounds the air-conditioning or heating box. USE/ADVANTAGE - To install an air-conditioning or heating box in the end wall of a motor vehicle, causing the wall to be curved outwards, but without detracting from its rigidity.
