System, devices and algorithms for the error correction in digital transmissions.

For the error correction in digital transmissions using the so-called Reed Solomon coding/decoding techniques, in reception it is processed the received data stream using a new algorithm having the equations <MATH> where Pe ( alpha <i>) = f (ei), with f (ei) being a suitably selected function <MATH> Now it is possible to use the said decoding algorithm using a hardware extremely simplified with respect to the conventional implementation systems. A fulfilment form of the implementation circuit includes : a central timing unit (UT) a preset unit (UP) at least a Reed Solomon coding and/or decoding circuit (COD/DECOD) running according to the proposed algorithm. <IMAGE>
