PURPOSE: To reuse and anatomically fit an ankle brace to the ankle by providing the heel stirrups comprising a bottom part and inner and outer erect parts, inner and outer pivotally supported legs pivotable about the ankle brace, inner and outer training pads, an attachment to mount adjustably and removably the training pads to the pivotally supported legs. CONSTITUTION: Straps 10 pivotally supported are mounted to stirrups 4 and connected to the inside pivotally supported leg 6 and outside pivotally supported leg 8 respectively by rivets 12, 14. The outside rivet 14 is located lower than the inside rivet 12. Thus, an ankle brace is pivoted about the same axis as that of the leg so that the forward and backward pivotal motion of the ankle and the bending of the bottom surface and instep parts of the foot can be comfortably provided. An attachment means 16 is attached removably to the inside of the pivotally supported legs 6, 8 and an inner and an outer training pads 18, 20 are mounted to the inner and outer pivotally supported legs 6, 8 by a strips 22. The inner and outer pivotally supported legs 6, 8 surround a part of the side of the leg in the top part to make contact with the leg under such state through a large surface area to provide the comfortable and effective brace. The pivotally supported legs 6, 8 are held close to the leg by connecting strups 44, 46. A compress pad may be used in place of the training pad in the presence of edema swelling or expansion.
