The invention relates to a device for indicating the direction of the optical axis of the reflector (12) of a motor vehicle headlight with respect to a longitudinal axis (AL) of the vehicle, at least in azimuth. It is characterised in that it comprises: a means (15, 18) for establishing a reference direction, which means can be mounted on a fixed part of the vehicle in order to define a reference direction having a well-determined orientation with respect to the longitudinal axis, and a means (12a) for establishing the direction of the optical axis of the reflector, which means is integral with the said reflector, and a means (20) indicating the relative position of the direction of the optical axis and of the reference direction. The indications given by the device make it possible to adjust the reflector after it has been mounted. <IMAGE>
