The door of a shower-bath cubicle is formed from hinged panels (1, 2) which run on horizontal guide rails. The panels are extended so that they all lie in a common plane when the door is closed. When the door is open the panels are folded against each other in zig-zag fashion. Adjacent panels are connected to each other near their common hinge by a tension spring (4). This spring is positioned relative to the hinge axis so that the spring holds the panels in the closed position. As the panels are swung towards each other, and the line of action of the spring passes through the dead centre, the spring then acts to bring the panels to the open position and then holds the panels in that position.
