IC engine with mechanically driven supercharger - has by=pass valves to control flow through supercharger and intercooler

The IC engine (E) has a mechanically driven supercharger (3) which has an intake (5a) and a delivery duct (5b). The delivery duct (5b) is connected to the intercooler (4) which is connected to the engine inlet manifold (5c). The supercharger (3) is fitted with a bypass duct (11) and valve (15) and the intercooler is fitted with a bypass duct (9) and valve (34). When the engine is operating under light load both the supercharger and intercooler bypass valves are open. Under medium load only the supercharger bypass valve is open, and under full load, both supercharger and intercooler bypass valves are closed. USE - IC engines with mechanically driven superchargers.
