Light cement building material

摘要

Polystyrene-concrete used as building components, contains cement, additives to save wt. and granules of foamed polystyrene; in addn. alkaline textile fibres are added to the initial foamed polymer to bind the material together when hard. Pref. the fibre addn. to the mix used does not effect final wt. of the material nor does it cause the end prods. to crack even if they are large e.g. three-dimensional building units which due to their dimensions, are subject to high stresses in transit and installation. Partic. pref. granules are made of "Tricosal" (R.T.N.) and it is pref. to add expanded clay particles to the cement. The fibres are polypropylene stape fibres in partic. of thickness 20-40 micron width 100-300 micron and length 24mm. The amt. added is not critical. A partic. pref. use for sheets made of the material is in the construction of portable cabins and similar. The thermal insulation is good, water absorption is low, fire resistance is good and the material is easy to machine, cut, etc..
