PURPOSE:To continuously graphitize carbon powder by transferring a raw carbon powder from one end of a retort tube to the other by a screw conveyor in the retort tube piercing a furnace body. CONSTITUTION:The screw conveyor 10 is provided in the graphite retort tube 8 almost horizontally piercing the furnace body 1 provided with a heating chamber 2. The tube 8 is heated by a heater 3, and carbon powder in a feed hopper 6 is charged into a charging chamber 4, charged into the tube 8 by the screw conveyor 10 and forcedly transferred. The carbon powder is heated and graphitized when passed through the intermediate part of the tube 8, continuously transferred as such, passed downward into a cooling hopper 7, cooled therein for a specified time and then discharged. |
