PURPOSE:To continuously graphitize carbon powder by providing a screw in a mold piercing a furnace body and in which raw powder is charged from its upper end and sent downward. CONSTITUTION:The mold 15 in which a spiral groove-shaped passage 20 is formed by a screw 19 is provided in the furnace body 1 in which a preheating chamber 2, heating chamber 3 and cooling chamber 4 are successively formed. The mold is heated by a heater 5, and carbon powder C is continuously supplied to a feed hopper 7 and charged into a charging chamber 6. The powder C is introduced into the passage 20 in the mold 15, and gradually sent downward through the passage 20. The powder C is preheated when passed through the preheating chamber 2, graphitized when passed through the heating chamber 3, cooled in the cooling chamber 4, discharged from the lower end of the mold 15 and discharged as graphite powder B from a discharge hopper 12 by a screw feeder 14. |
