PURPOSE:To effectively use all channels in a cordless telephone constituted so that reception monitoring may be executed intermittently at the time of standby only for the registered channel among the channels whose use is ap proved by executing prescribed processing. CONSTITUTION:In a handset 1 and a base unit 2, RAMs 142, 242 are provided with addresses to store channel data EMCH for a dead channel besides the registration address of the channel data CHDT for a call. In the base unit 2, all up-channels are scanned repeatedly at the time of the standby, and if there is a dead channel, all of them are registered as the EMCH in the RAM 242. Besides, this EMCH is updated always with the scanning of the channel. Then, at the time of on-hook, the CHDT of the RAMs 142, 242 are updated by microcomputers 140, 240, and even if the channels which the handset 1 reception-monitors at the time of the standby are only two channels, the ap proved channels are used effectively. |
