The tuning pin for a stringed instrument has a cylindrical anchoring portion at one end, an actuating portion at the other, a transverse drilling, and a wrap-round portion for the string. The wrap-round portion (16) of the pin (10) is of smaller dia. (D2) than the anchoring portion (14). The wrap-round portion can be cylindrical, extending for a length (L) at least three times the dia. (DS) of the string, and joining via radiused faces (18, 19) onto the other portions. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pin for end of string on string instrument maintains better tuning despite inevitable turning of pin in the reverse direction.
