摘要 A steering system control arrangement is for a vehicle with steerable wheels (12) with connected steering arms (30) and a main rack-and-pinion steering assembly (14, 16, 18, 20). Drives (22) connect the rack to the steering arms with relatively movable parts connected to the rack and arms. The drives are controlled by a controller (32) according to the difference between the measured and desired values for a vehicle state such as yaw angle. The wheels are thus steered independently of the movement of the rack. USE/ADVANTAGE - For maintaining directional stability of a moving vehicle, e.g. during cornering.
