The invention relates to a method including treatment of the solution with iron, chemisorption by said solution of air and nitrogen oxides in the presence of hydrochloric acid and at a temperature of 0-40 DEG C with subsequent oxidation of said solution with 1.5-5 times excess air and with the catalytic quantity of the nitrogen oxides in the preliminary oxidation and oxidation zones, the process in the latter zone being carried out at a temperature of 45-80 DEG C and with the addition of nitrite and/or nitrate ions at a ratio of 0.0015-0.05:1 with respect to the ions of iron (II). The installation comprises, mounted in technological sequence, units (1, 2) for copper extraction, chemical absorber (20), reactors (31, 41) connected to a pipeline (6), the last three being interconnected by a pipeline (51). The invention may be used in electronic and metal-working industries.
