PURPOSE: To guide signatures correctly regardless of different carrying speed by arranging the signatures correctly in scalelike overlapping flow by means of single or a plurality of grippers while preventing the front edge from being caught due to deceleration. CONSTITUTION: In a first conveyor 7, signatures 5 are conveyed at the prevailing speed V of a preceding printer and follow sequentially at a pitch C corresponding to the circumference of a printing cylinder. In a second conveyor 8 located in the rear of the first conveyor 7, signatures 5 follow sequentially at a pitch p. Each signature 5 from the first conveyor 7 arrives, at a speed V, on a preceding signature 5 being carried at a speed v. When signatures 5 reach a distance p while being overlapped, a following signature is pressed against the belt of the second conveyor 8 by a gripper 15 having a linear direction equal to the speed v and takes the speed v. |
