<p>PURPOSE:To automatically attach a caliper to a brake disc by making the friction surface of one friction pad abut against the outer peripheral edge portion of the brake disc, and oscillating the friction surface with the abutment portion as the center of oscillation so that the friction surface is parallel to the plate surface of the brake disc, and displacing the friction surface toward the center of the brake disc. CONSTITUTION:While the friction surfaces 2a, 3a of friction pads 2, 3 are tilted with respect to the plate surface of a brake disc 1, the space between the pair of friction pads 2, 3 is enlarged in the direction of the thickness of the disc 1 in comparison with when the friction faces 2a, 3a are parallel to the plate surface of the brake disc 1. Thereby the corner portion of the friction surface 2a of one friction pad 2 is readily made to abut against the outer peripheral edge portion of one surface 1a of the brake disc without requiring high accuracy. When the friction surfaces 2a, 3a thus tilted are oscillated with the abutment portion X as the center of oscillation and made parallel to the plate surfaces 1a, 1b of the brake disc 1 the brake disc 1 is automatically positioned so that the brake disc 1 can be inserted between the pair of friction pads 2, 3.</p> |
