The multi-disc brake is actuated by a two arm lever fitted outside to the gear housing. One lever arm is connected to the pedal and the other arm bears on a pressure pin which acts on the axial plate used to press the brake discs against a spring onto an endstop. An hydraulic cylinder (56) in the first lever arm (40) should incorporate a pressure space (57) and a piston which (58) slides sealably in the cylinder and projects one side to bear on the gear housing. The cylinder connects to the pedal pressure line (63). USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicles, brake systems. Cylinder is trip lever arm saves space, keeps oil isolated from brake fluid and eases lever replacement without engine dismantling.
