PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of an active material to the outside of a stack by fixing the flange section of a connecting member at the lower end section of a cylinder storing a battery to a bottom cover via a sealing material, and forming a cylindrical space section between it and a battery bottom face. CONSTITUTION:One or two or more batteries 1 having a positive electrode terminal or a negative electrode terminal 2 on the upper face and a counter electrode terminal 3 on the bottom face are connected in series and stored in a cylinder 4 to form a cylindrical sodium-sulfur battery stack 19. A connecting member 5 electrically connected to a terminal 2 is provided at the upper end section of the cylinder 4. A connecting member 6 is provided at the lower end section of the cylinder 4, the flange section 9 of the connecting member 6 is fixed to a bottom cover 11 via a sealing material 12, and a cylindrical space section 14 made of a cylinder section 13 fixed in close contact with the peripheral section of the flange section 9 at the side face is formed between the member 6 and the battery bottom face. A bolt 15 electrically connected to the terminal on the battery bottom face is screwed at the center of the connecting member 6 on the bottom section of the cylindrical space section 14. |
