PURPOSE:To increase sensitivity to ammonia gas by employing aqeous solution including specified amounts of silver nitrate, nickel nitrate, ammonia nitrate, and nitric acid as the reacting liquid for conductive type ammonia gas detecting element. CONSTITUTION:The reacting liquid is obtained by solving 0.1-5wt% silver nitrate, 1-20wt% nickel nitrate, 1-20wt% ammonia nitrate, and 1-10wt% nitric acid into water. The conductive type gas detecting element is constituted by winding noble metal wire such as platinum and gold around a core shaft having a thread to form one electrode, covering said electrode by a wet body such as glass cloth, and winding the same nobel wire around the outside of the wet body to form another electrode. The reacting solution is impregnated into the wet body of the detecting element. In this constitution of the element, the sensitivity to the ammonia gas is high and the excellent characteristics in reproducibility and economy are indicated. |
