<p>PURPOSE:To provide a light bat with an excellent reaction, an excellent antishock property, and a weather-proof property, by forming the bat with a hard foamy plastic core body and an outer cover, and forming the outer cover with a composition consisting of a specific vapor-growth carbon fiber and a thermoplastic resin and/or a thermosetting resin. CONSTITUTION:A bat consists of a core body of a hard foamy plastics and an outer cover to cover the circumference of the core body, and the outer cover is formed of a composition which consists of a vapor-growth carbon fiber (VGCF) with the fiber diameter 0.01 to 4mum including 1 to 500mueq/g of acid functional radicals, and a thermoplastic resin and/or a thermosetting resin. The hard foamy plastics is a plastic material of a volume density 0.01 to 0.5g/cm<2>, including separate and/or continued foamy microballoons, and it is preferable to use urethane or epoxy resin. The aspect ratio (the length of fiber/ the diameter of fiber) of the VGCF is preferably 10 to 1000, and the VGCF including acid functional radicals is made by oxidizing-processing a VGCF under the ambiance of Ni/O mixture gas.</p> |
