<p>PURPOSE:To make the clutch compact and protect its bearing from powder of worn material of the clutch by supporting a rotor capable of contacting an armature with a bearing, fixing the outer race of the bearing to the rotor by calking, and covering the projecting portion of the outer race with a ring shield of a non-magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A torque-receiving rotor having a friction surface 19 is opposite an armature capable of coming into contact with and parting from the friction surface 19 and is attracted to the rotor by an electromagnetic coil. The outer race portion 21a of a ball bearing 21 is inserted into the inner race portion 17c of the rotor 17. The reduced diameter portion 22 of the outer race portion 21a projects from the rotor 17 and is covered with a ring shield 24 of a non- magnetic material. The tapered portion 24a at the end of the ring shield is secured by calking the calking claw portion 23. Since the bearing 21 is made to project from the friction surface 19 of the rotor 17, the axial dimension is reduced and powder of material of the clutch produced by the engagement and disengagement of the clutch is prevented with the non-magnetic ring shield 24 from adhering to the bearing.</p> |
