PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium large in the difference between reflectivities before and after recording due to laser beam, capable of reproducing recording with high sensitivity and stable chemically and physically by providing an org. membrane layer containing at least one or more kind of a specific phthalocyanine compound on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An org. membrane layer containing at least one or more kind of a phthalocyanine compound represented by formula I is provided on a substrate. In the formula, M is Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge or Sn, Xs may be mutually same or different and are an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic residue, a phthalimide methyl group, all of which may have a substituent, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group or a sulfonic acid group, Y is a group represented by formula II, Z is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group which may have a substituent, R<15> and R<16> may be same or different and are alkyl group which may have a substituent, a polyether group, a hydroxyl group or a halogen atom, R<17>, R<18>, R<19> and R<20> may be same or different and are an alkyl group which may have a substituent, a polyether group, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom or a hydroxyl group and W is O, S, Se or Te. |
